Gonçalo Pena, “Sauvage Europeén”

In this exhibition Gonçalo Pena presents the result of recent wanderings in the Scandinavian north with the object to experiment the relation between landscape and belonging.  The frozen desert, colonization and scorched-earth memories and identity policies blend on an unstable ground and view point to a savage panoptikon over European historic imagery. The scope of media used to render this Grand Tour description has its start in drawing but expands in transdisciplinarity, broadening the heterogeneous nature of the initial research materials given at the start.
