Diogo Nogueira

Diogo Nogueira (1999, Porto) graduated from the University of Porto’s Fine Arts Faculty with a degree in Painting.

 

He lives and works between Porto and Caldas da Rainha.

 

Through painting, drawing, ceramics, and installations, he explores the themes of image, iconography, gesture, and sexuality. Figures move together to celebrate, worship, protest, and even mourn in images infused with humour. The image serves as the foundation for a shared mythology, weaving together personal and collective narratives.

 

He has competed in a variety of competitions and exhibitions since 2018, earning numerous awards and recognitions. He has exhibited at various venues, including Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis (2020), Espaço Mira (2023), and Galeria Graça Brandão.

He has also exhibited internationally, including at the Murcia Academy of Fine Arts (2021) and the Buenos Aires Academy of Fine Arts (2022).

 

His work is held in private and public collections in Portugal, Spain, Germany, England, and Italy, including the Solverde Casinos & Hotels, the APF Foundation, and the Norlinda and José Lima collections.

 

As co-founder and team member of the art space and project ‘O Bueiro’, he has established collaborations with institutions such as the University of Porto and the Soares dos Reis National Museum.

 

Recently, he joined the artistic space ‘Clube de Desenho’ as a Collaborator, Resident Artist and Guest Teacher.
