Diogo Nogueira

Diogo Nogueira (1999). Lives and works between Porto and Caldas da Rainha.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts – Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Fine Arts at the School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha.

His practice delves into the domain of Image, Iconography, Gesture, and Sexuality through painting, drawing, ceramics, and installations. Through images imbued with humor, we observe figures moving together in celebrations, adorations, and protests. It is with the image that a shared mythology is constructed, intertwining the threads of personal and collective narratives. The work is thus seen as a joint ritual – a celebration.

Since 2018, he has participated in national exhibitions, both group and solo, in spaces such as the National Museum Soares dos Reis, Porto, Espaço Mira, Porto, Galeria Graça Brandão, Lisbon, and Galeria Presença, Porto. He also exhibits internationally in spaces such as the Academy of Fine Arts of Murcia, Spain (2021), Academy of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires, Argentina (2022), and Galeria Nonada – São Paulo, Brazil (2024).

He has undertaken several artist residencies, such as O Bueiro (2021), Fórum Maia, as part of the Maia Contemporary Art Biennale program ‘23 (2023), and Côa Museum (2024).
His work is represented in private and public collections in Portugal, Spain, Germany, England, Italy, and Brazil, including the collections of Solverde Casinos & Hotels Foundation (2021), APF Foundation (2021), Norlinda and José Lima Collection (2023), and Cerveira Art Biennial Foundation (2024).

He was a founding member of the O Bueiro project. Currently, he is a member of the artistic space ‘Clube de Desenho,’ where he works as an art educator.
